Sclerometric test on wood

Work civile

The sclerometric test on wood is a natural complement to other non-destructive investigation tests of wooden elements, which are part of our portfolio. It is a totally non-invasive technique that is carried out by means of a classic sclerometer to which are applied the pipette tips which will then be driven into the wood; what is directly measured is the length of penetration, which may be correlated to the parameters of strength and deformability of the wooden element.

In conclusion, the sclerometric test is particularly useful, as it may provide useful parameters of the material without resorting to invasive tests that, especially for existing and degraded structures, would be even more damaging.
